After reporting censorship attacks coming from China, Google decided to converted all their Gmail traffic into HTTPS. Although HTTPS traffic costs considerably more, Google made a wise choice in improving their service by providing secure email. There are setting to turn it off if you’re already using a secure connection.
Check out Google’s Official Gmail Blog for the announcement.
Google Trends Experiment
Thursday, May 21st, 2009 | Technology | No Comments
I really enjoy contributing quality content to the interweb community. It’s fun to blog about my experiences and try to explain challenges as I solve them. The problem is I don’t solve enough challenges at a high enough frequency that will help me achieve internet celebrity status. So I’ll be conducting an experiment!
Google offers a tool called Google Trends. Google Trends utilizes complex algorithms to calculate and display high surges in internet popularity of a keyword. The top 100 keywords (or phrases) that experience an increase in search queries are displayed in an ordered list.
My experiment will entail utilizing the most popular search topics (based on my own personal interest and search popularity) and provide quality content based on the keywords. I’m hoping this will give me more to write about, as well as increase my blog’s popularity.
Let the experiment begin!
