iPhone iOS 4.0 Upgrade Missing Safari App
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 | Technology | 2 Comments
So I just updated my 3G iPhone to iOS4! It only took about 4 hours to complete. After finishing the update I noticed I was missing the Safari App… Yep… The Safari Icon is missing. I looked over all 6 pages of apps and couldn’t find it anywhere. After a quick google I found that my work’s Exchange Email account was conflicting with the Safari App (weird). Anyway, the quick fix is to reset your Home Screen layout:
Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout
Another thing to check is the device’s restrictictions. Make sure the Safari app is turned ON:
Settings > General > Restrictions
Cyberduck and Smultron!

I’ve been doing a lot of HTML/CSS editing on my website and have been depending too much on WordPresses Appearance Editor located in the admin dashboard. There was a lot wasted time put into editing HTML and CSS there. As an alternative I’ve found the following open source solution:
Cyberduck
Smultron
Cyberduck is a pretty standard FTP client but what it allows you to do is edit files with Smultron and save them directly back to the server. This really cuts down on uploading time. To get it to work download and install both applications. Then set up an FTP connection with Cyberduck and browse to the files you’d like to edit. Then right click on a file and select “Edit With” and select Smultron. Then edit the file and save it with Smultron and you’ll notice the changes are immediately uploaded via Cyberduck! Woot…
Google Switches Gmail to HTTPS
Thursday, January 14th, 2010 | Media, Technology | No Comments
After reporting censorship attacks coming from China, Google decided to converted all their Gmail traffic into HTTPS. Although HTTPS traffic costs considerably more, Google made a wise choice in improving their service by providing secure email. There are setting to turn it off if you’re already using a secure connection.
Check out Google’s Official Gmail Blog for the announcement.
