After reporting censorship attacks coming from China, Google decided to converted all their Gmail traffic into HTTPS.   Although HTTPS traffic costs considerably more, Google made a wise choice in improving their service by providing secure email.  There are setting to turn it off if you’re already using a secure connection.

When I created the account, I didn’t use it as much as I do now, so it got polluted with unread messages that I never really planned on going back to read. I finally discovered a way to get my unread count back to 0, which delivers the impression that my inbox is clean.

Microsoft’s New Search Engine – Bing

Microsoft is preparing to release Bing.com – a search engine where the results are organized in a logical order, rather then how most search engines do it – by popularity.

Bing tries to help deal with search overload by helping you find the best choice faster. By breaking results into logical categories and highlighting answers directly on the results page it helps a user make the best decision. There’s many different sections of Bing such as health, shopping, images, videos, maps and more. Using Bing for flights allows you to search across multiple airlines (like other search engines) but also provides a “price prediction” tool that shows you the best time to buy your ticket.

Check out a Bing introduction video here.
